giblett123 Posted January 1, 2013 Author Posted January 1, 2013 Yup, will put them in photbucket now.
giblett123 Posted January 3, 2013 Author Posted January 3, 2013 Morning all! Anyone fancy a Fender bargain?!
ML94 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Tone wise, what would you say this produces ? Really interested at this price !
giblett123 Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 G'day there Jack, long time no see! This one weighs in round the 9lb mark, balances well, no neck dive. Soundwise it does everything a good jazz should, nice growl etc, you could alway drop in an Audere or East preamp which would give more options? If in doubt come round and have a noodle on it, anyone that fancies it is welcome!
bubinga5 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 £599 for a USA Fender is a great bargain, especially one in this colour
nottswarwick Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Look splendid. Might be interested When did they stop having string through bodies?
mckendrick Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013
When did they stop having string through bodies?
They didn't. Generally speaking string through began in 1995. This looks like a 92/93. It also looks more like Dakota Red than Fiesta - although reds are never the easiest thing to reproduce digitally. And at the price it's probably the bargain of the moment. Great bass, great looker, great price.
giblett123 Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Que? Highway as in the type of basses? Apols if I'm being slow, its early! This one's a USA standard Jazz.
giblett123 Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 £50 off to get things moving, has to be a good price for a USA jazz?
karlfer Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Read somewhere these were nicknamed Long Horn because of an extended top horn brought about by a move to 22 frets. Think the extended top horn was an aid to balancing. The Boner became the slightly smutty nickname, derived from long horn. Oh come on, work it out Very nice bass!
giblett123 Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 I had worked it out! Is it worth mentioning I might swap my boner for a warm P?
ML94 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Can't believe this hasn't been sold yet. Had a play with this, it does flow under your fingers
