ojplaysbass
hi - I was wondering if anyone's run an A/B test with or tried both of these? the size of the TC really appeals to me and the toneprint looks like a great addition, but is its 250w as plentiful as the EBS 250w? I'm looking for a backup for my Trace Elliot v300 head which is plenty for me at about 12 o'clock on gain & master - just using a single 4ohm schroeder 1210R cab. cheers
k50
No reply's to this topic yet ? I'm also considering either one of these amps as a light weight back up . Would the EBS deliver , in real terms more than the TC ?
Oopsdabassist
Well I've not tried the TC, but I bought a reidmar as a backup for my Eden 400. Eden now stays at home as the reidmar is simply stunning, very full rich sound and incredibly loud for an amp rated at 250W at 4 ohm, blows the Eden into the weeds! EBS_freak
Not tried the 250 - but the Reidmar more than keeps up with the TC's larger siblings.
k50
Thanks for the info guys , ended up ordering a shuttle max 9.2. Not quiet sure how that happened , maybe the EBS next time . Now have to figure out what to tell the other half !
EBS_freak
Good choice. You'll love the Shuttle - Genz make some great amps.
ojplaysbass
my problem is - i have a feeling that the reidmar's sound is going to be more to my liking, but for the price and portability the BH250 can't really be ignored - the videos on youtube don't really do much for me - can anyone tell me if it it delivers in tone and volume like the reidmar (or even like the GK MB200)? EBS_freak
TC vs EBS? Chalk and Cheese. (Assuming that the TC BH250 is more tonally like their other offerings)
ojplaysbass
fair point. if only the reidmar was more dinky - it'd be a complete no brainer
EBS_freak
I know. Its still not dinky enough for my liking :-)
Gunsfreddy2003
I seem to be in the minority on here but I find the BH250 seriously lacking in volum when playing with a band. Don't get me wrong it is a lovely soundng amp and the Toneprint feature is great but the Mark Bass head comes out every time for gigs and rehearsals! I'll ask to see if we can get that changed. I'll see if I can find the necessary links - in the meantime, here's the page that allows you to access every magazine free of charge. http://www.iguitarmag.com/magazine-editions/
