Year of Birth of my Classic Vibes. Help please?

Got two Classic Vibes with s.nrs. starting with CGS08 and CGS12
The web seemed inconclusive as to whether one or two number positions count.

Were they made in '08 and '12,
Were they made in '10 and '11?

Oh, never mind. Looking at several serial numbers on CVs, I think I've decoded it:

My guess:

First pair of digits are year of manufacture.
Second pair are month of manufacture.
Three last digits are number within a month.
If month = "00". then this probably means that one made more than 999 during a certain month, and the "00" is ised for those basses.
Serial number is put on neck before all parts are thrown together, so QC date on tag must always be later than serial number date.

Not exactly a qualified guess, but not totally without merit either, I should think.

You could also try taking the neck off - Fenders usually have the date stamped on the neck and body, they probably do the same on Squiers.
