franzbassist Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 (edited) I want soft leather, and I mean soft... I want it at least 3.5" wide.... I want it to "grip" my shoulder and not slide around... I don't want to spend more than £50.... Recommend me happy, BC! Edited January 4, 2013 by walbassist Quote

TheGreek Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Bought stuff from both of these guys: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Steph-Tan-Cowhide-Suede-Bass-Guitar-Strap-Nubuk-Ends-/160733450717?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item256c75d1dd http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Guitar-Strap-3-Wide-Black-Leather-for-Electric-or-Acoustic-Guitar-00506-/190777494622?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item2c6b398c5e Great service from both - you might also want to look at "dangleberry" - also very reasonable Quote
pete.young Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Comfort Strapp ticks all those boxes except the 'soft leather' one. Just bought a new one today from Mark at Bassdirect. Quote
deepbass5 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 (edited) I'm gunna treat myself to one of these this year. but never seen one https://www.bearstraps.com but can recomend a Neotech bass strap, not leather but more support than a comfort strap Neotech 8301052 https://www.alangregory.co.uk/Neotech Neotech Mega Bass Guitar Strap Edited January 5, 2013 by deepbass5 Quote

However, having spoken to Lars at Richter he's going to send some straps to Phil at Bass Gear for me to try out! The quality was certainly there, lovely straps. Quote
Norris Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 The Comfort Strapp is not leather, but ticks all of your other boxes. The main part of the strap is a thick slab of neoprene, which is non-slip and has some 'give' without being springy. I have several and wouldn't use anything else for gigging as they are so comfortable and robust. You may want to aim for the large/extra-large size - the short & medium are way too short for me. I use a large for my Jazz & extra-large for my T-bird - and they are not exactly strung low. Quote

Pow_22 Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 My mrs bought me a lovely minataur strap for xmas. She ordered it at the begining of December and had to chase them nearer xmas as she was worried it wouldnt arrive in time. They replied immediately saying it would arrive in time, 2 days later the strap arrived....and what a strap it is! Quote
discreet Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 (edited) Yes, I usually recommend Minotaur Straps if asked. Good to know they're still in business. Don't know why it should take so long to deliver though, mine arrived four days after ordering. You can order them from Thomann as well. http://www.thomann.d...x=0&y=0&gk=&bn= Edited February 5, 2013 by discreet Quote
