It struck me the other day that my amp has two 500w halfs - or 1000w into 8 ohms.
I have one 4 ohm cab. And don't really intend getting another....

so it just struck me- I may not ever use half my amp. (and ironically now have a car so the lightweight-ness of it is less of a feature!)

If you like the sound, does it really matter?

You've got the flexibility and you'd probably sound better with another 210 for the other side.

shame to waste it, give you £100 for it?
;) it is my only amp though! :P

Are you sure you've got the impedances right? I thought the 1000 ran down to 2 ohms, so should give the full wattage bridged into 4 ohms.

Edit: Specs here. 1000w at 4 ohms. Might be worth checking they haven't changed the specs at some point though.

Oh, I just edited my previous post.

The Tecamp website is saying it does run at 2 ohms, but I've no idea whether the specs have changed.

umm, alternate which half you plug the amp into each time you use it? Then you are using the whole of your amp, albeit at different times.
you know it's got different volumes for each channel on the back - could set one up for live and one for the bedroom.... genius! :D

Right you are.

Always nice to have the option of doubling your power if you ever decide to get a second cab though. :)

Sexy little amp, I feel an irrational urge to buy one even though already own three lightweight class D amps (rh450, shuttle 6, promethean) :yarr:

More is better, its basschat rules! :) I am currently using a 900 watt twin channel genz amp into a 1x10 cab in the box room!

Nice! I think part of me just misses my old Hughes and Kettner amp. It was 10kg or something.
