Delberthot
Still happy with my Korg DT-10 after many years. If/when it packs in I'll probably go for one of the newer models
tonyquipment
i've got both the TU3 on the bass and polytune on the guitar - both fantastic pedals, get either. i've had TU2 before as well but it isnt as accurate as the TU3 (only literally marginally) still a good tuner though! rumour6
I've used Seiko tuners for 20yrs... current one (not floor mount) is a SAT800 Heavy duty one.. does the job on 5's and 6's no problem... I think you can get them from Amazon for about £17!! which is less than half what I paid a year ago.
keeponehandloose
pitchblack plus , for me. true bypass, accurate to 1 cent, open tunings , chromatic etc, plus 4 programmable ones. best thing is its also an A/B switch for 2 insruments, tunings assignable to either or both. mazdah
Jeez the Boss pedal is an antique these days! I like a bit of retro and have an Atari 2600 with 100 games but seriously get a TC Polytune Thom
Just like P or J bass. Boss just does the job. And will be for another 20-30 years
As for Boss tuners, just because they're the standard, it doesn't make them the best. On their own product page it says they're accurate to +/- 1 cent.the polytune (in single string mode) is accurate to +/- 0.5 cent. A brief look at the prices on google shows them at about the same, it's a no-brainer to go for the more accurate tuner that has a polyphonic mode and true bypass over the one that has no benefits IMO.
As for accuracy... incredibly well trained human ear is unable to hear less than 5 cents difference. Average human ear starts to hear that something may be wrong from 10 cents. No way you can tell if the bass is 0,5 or 1 or even 3 cents out of tune unless you have super powers
chris_b
The tuner on my TC Staccato amp was the best I've used. Unfortunately it went with the amp when I sold it. Now I use a Pitch Black. It's very good.
mcnach
I have a Polytune mini and a Pitchblack. I don't like the display on the Polytune much, but both are good.
Roland Rock
I've just picked up a used Polytune on EBay. I was a bit confused by the polyphonic thing till I realised I wasn't in bass mode :-D I'm really impressed, and especially love the way it automatically switches from poly to chromatic depending on whether you strum or pluck - really intuitive.
