NBD: Yamaha BB425x

Yesterday was New Bass Day when I got my new Yamaha BB425x in red from Promenade Music in Morecambe.

I wondered what strings come with the BB and if anyone had any recommended string sets for the BB?

The bass will almost certainly have had Yamaha strings on it from the factory .

If I'm using rounds these days it has to be DR Hghbeams.

If flats then it D'addario Chromes. So smooth and lovely

I hated the factory strings on my BB415 and found the B to be really floppy - put on a set of Dunlop nickels and have stuck to them ever since!

I thought yamaha OE strings were D'addario? Mine had tag saying as much when i bought my Bb414....although yours is a 425?

Yeah, I believe they're still using D'addario Prosteels: they may be Yamaha branded, but they're made by D'addario.

I think they use D'addario strings on their basses I think they were on my BBN4, BBN5 and BBG5S.
I love their prosteels

If you have coloured ball ends then they are [color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]D'addario's. Stainless steel Slinky's sound nice on a Bb too, especially after you break them in.[/font][/color]
