Despite the fact they are plastic essentially you'd look such a spanner playing one.

[/quote]You probably need a spanner to play that thing. Oh my god!

It's two 4 string basses in one. One fretted, one fretless. Looks nice enough to me, I'd give it a go but I'm not a huge fan of fretless

Can't be doing with Bongos. Or Foderas. Or Hofner violin basses.
Out of those, at least a Fodera plays well; I've had tea chest basses that play better than a Bongo!
But then I've got a Wal, and a pointy headstocked Parker...

Frustratingly I can't post photos, but here's a link to my suggestion:

My photo is of a green one. Search Google images for 'Kawai Concert Bass' and protect your eyes

Guild B301/302 is a quirky looking thing, it just isn't harmonious in design at all. I had one for years and never warmed to the shape.
The same with the Shergold Marathon, it was never quite as nice looking as I WANTED it to be! Just an unimaginative body shape.

Here's another one, with which you should seek immediate psychiatric help, if you like it in any way...

IIRC that particular bass actually belongs to a member here.

While it's possible to have a laugh poking fun at what we might consider the less attractive instruments, I think actually singling out a particular individual's bass for abuse is a bit too far...

I have to say, regardless of the challenging aesthetics, if someone can play this beast well, all power to their elbow and can get away with however it looks!

I don't like it, and find it overtly coffee table style, which is not me, BUT if that is after one's taste, I think it at least is rather balanced designwise, and at peace with itself when held vertically. It does get a bit mid-heavy when held in playing position though.

No need to phone anyone. I already have an appointment with a range of therapists from before.
I like this a lot. It draws from at least four design styles and ideals, and is not my taste by far, BUT at least it doesn't take itself so seriously, and is quite liberating in that respect, in my humblest of opinions of course. I'd be happy playing this in front of an audience, if I could play.

best,
