Left Hand 73 Fender Jazz Bridge parts

I hope someone out there can help !

I have just reformed my band after 21 years of retirement (first gig was a sell out so very proud)

I decided to service my 1973 LH Fender Jazz & as aresult I now need a single bridge section (saddle) with two height adjusting screws. If necessary where can I get a full set?

I cant seem to pin down the actual model of my jazz bass - it doesn't have 'jazz bass' emblazoned on the headstock (only 'Fender' & a patent number). I bought it brand new in 1973/74 serial no: 506872. It has a fender 'f' on the plate.

All help welcome !

It'll just be a standard saddle you need. It may be easier buying a whole new bridge. The left handed Fenders, made in that era didn't have Jazz Bass or Precision on the headstocks of left handed basses - I assume because Fender didn't want to go to the bother of ordering left handed decals for a relatively small number of basses built.

One of these should do the job http://www.ebay.co.u...der+bass+bridge

To get period correct saddles with slotted grub screws you'll need a Fender '75 reissue bridge like this:

Most cheap non-US 'jazz type' bridges will have saddles with metric screw threads, vintage US fender bridges have imperial UNC 6/32 thread.

Great feedback - much appreciated & very interesting. Do you have any idea of the value of my bass?

Seventies basses have gone for around £1500 and sometimes more on this forum. It depends on how well looked after they are and how original.
