MoJoKe
hiya, This used to be easy, I cannot for the life of me get it to work again, can someone tell me how please!!
redstriper
I just copy and paste the url - it usually works, but sometimes not and I don't know why.
MoJoKe
I've tried the URL and the embed code, I've also tried putting youtube or media in square brackets... nothing works!
BigRedX
Simply paste in the URL of the video - no YOUTUBE tags required anymore. If there's any extra code starting with a question mark after the video code (11 characters) you'll need to delete that first. Also some video won't allow embedding. Which one(s) are you having problems with?

MoJoKe
I just copy and paste the url - it usually works, but sometimes not and I don't know why.
Thank you for that, why did that not work for me though... and while I think of it, why do my own posts never seem to show when I click "view new content? BigRedX
You need to simplify the URLs the format should be:
(where the x's are the 11 character YouTube code.) So in the case of the URLs you posted you need to delete everything between the "watch?" and "v=" and then it will work. Don't know why your URLs came out like they do but if it matches the code format above then it will work provided that the video has embedding allowed. BigRedX
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXT9cx9Vb10 Sorry there was a mistake in my instructions above the URL to embed the video in this post is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXT9cx9Vb10
Edited January 13, 2013 by BigRedX
tauzero
After a few minutes trying to get this working and finally managing it, I think another thing that you have to watch for is that it must be http:// and not https:// (which I suspect is what you get if you're logged in to Google). icastle
I've just had a quick experiment and I can confirm that. If you have a URL with https then you must remove the 's' from the URL or it wont work.
