Bassection Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I personally use a Line 6 POD Studio UX1 - Got it for £100 a few years ago and it comes bundled with POD Farm etc They're actually a little more expensive now.. Around £110 on Guitarguitar but still well worth it. Quote

Samashton12 Posted January 15, 2013 Author Posted January 15, 2013 My line 6 amp has a Direct out Jack, is it possible I could plug my amp into the interface directly? Quote
lettsguitars Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 (edited) Most surely! Or use the insert thingys (fx loop) Edited January 15, 2013 by lettsguitars Quote
Bassection Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 And plug your guitar into the amp? Yes. That's usually the best way to go about it if you want to keep the tone you like getting with your regular amp. Quote

lettsguitars Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 A very useful trick if you wanna use an amp but dont want to piss off your neighbours with endless takes is to record direct and then 're-amp' the signal once you get a good take. Quote

charic Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 The UX2's aren't a bad bit of kit but unless you are going to use the Podfarm functionality then it's probably a little bit over priced for what it is IMHO Quote
RockfordStone Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 i have a line 6 toneport gx which is cheap and useful Quote

OldG Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 My son has one of these - fantastic pre in this, great sound and no discernable latency. Miles ahead of the Avid stuff imho..... Quote
jackers Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 anything from focusrite is always good I have a Sapphire 6 and it is great. Quote

Dood Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I've just bought a Roland Quad Capture - absolutely rock solid drivers and the latency is very low. I'm replacing my Line 6 UX1 due to Line 6 making a pig's ear of the Mountain Lion Mac drivers throughout last year rendering my interface unusable. If you're on a Mac with the latest OS, avoid like the plague. I was deciding between the Focusrite Scarlet 2i4 and the Q-C. The QC won. Quote
lowdown Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Another one here for the Roland Quad Capture - very solid while working at very low latency. The MIDI drivers are very stable and plenty of audio signal going in to. Garry Quote
danthevan Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Probably quite a bit over budget @ £169, but http://www.andertons.co.uk/studio-mixers/pid13058/cid605/alesis-multimix-8-usb-20-mixer-with-effects.asp?utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=pricecomp&utm_campaign=GoogleShopping You'll probably find (like i did) that once you have recorded a bass track, you'll want to do some vocals, then maybe someone on guitar etc etc............. and this is a damn good bit of kit for the money. Have used it at a couple of venues to get live recordings of the entire band and it's done the job well. Chuck it all through Sonarx1 to mix and master and you get a decent demo cd. Also good for those nights when you want to practice while sitting on the sofa with the headphones on while wifey is watching TOWIE or some crap. Quote
