Musicman Foam Mutes - Source?

[4 Strings]

Hi, I remember someone on here was able to replace the foam mutes on their old MM bass.

Can anyone remember this, or help with a source for these? I now they're not made from magic sponge or anything, but close to original would be great.

I need 8.

I think Strings And Things ( EBMM U.K importer ) can supply repacements .

Mousemat cut up is the normal trick but I found some childrens foam stamp kits in a pound shop, cut them up, glued them on job done

Mark at bass-direct supplied me some a while back, not too sure anymore.
£25 though, but you get the assably with the grub screws also(not just foam)

The sticky-back foam window insulation you can get from B&Q does the job perfectly too!

Fixed it for now. Asked the wife who mentioned the sticky foam things that I put under the chair legs on the laminate floor. Perfect! Quite hard and very sticky, simply cut to shape. I'll post a pic.

I think as Prime said you get the spring plate and 4 thumb turns with that though to be fair

Didn't quite work, the pads aren't thick enough to reach the strings!
