MiltyG565 Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014
Birmingham! Still waiting for an to pass the baton on to. Interested?
I'm in Northern Ireland buddy. Was wondering just how far north the bass had come. I'm not in a band currently, so have no place to use the bass, but if it came this length, I think I could maybe encourage a couple of local bassists to use it. That was all I was thinking, really. Jimryan Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Hi guys, I'm starting to feel that the bass relay has run it's course. Are any other BCers interested in taking a go before I consider pulling it? A big thank you to everyone's continued efforts throughout the relay, I really cannot thank you all enough for everything you've all done. Thanks, James Quote
lurksalot Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Well done James , it is you who deserves the praise , everyone else just played the thing It is a shame that it has come to a bit of a stop , but is sometimes the way of things , I guess it is up to the BC massive to decide if they want to pick up the baton, literately. A last ROLL UP , ROLL UP , and take the chance to raise some money for cancer research and be a part of a great event . Maybe auction it off now then with T-shirt and book , or keep the bits for your bottom drawer Quote
Silvia Bluejay Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I'll tweet this final appeal later today. Well done to all involved. Quote
GrammeFriday Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 I've had a few expressions of interest but nothing firm at the mo. Quote

Jimryan Posted September 26, 2014 Author Posted September 26, 2014 OK, what I reckon, is that we leave it for one more week. If there is no further interest or no one steps forward, I'll declare the relay over. I'll save the kind words/speech until then 😛 Once again, thank you everyone for your continued support and efforts. Cheers James Quote

GrammeFriday Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 PS It's the White Horse, not the White Lion, isn't it? (I don't think there is a White Lion in Harborne, but I may be wrong about that) Quote
Raymondo Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 (edited) Replied GF shouldn't be a problem ....off we go again! Yes it's the White Horse ....played there loads of times but my head just keeps calling it the White Lion....told you my memory was rubbish Edited September 26, 2014 by Raymondo Quote

Raymondo Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 This was my first gig back with my old band after a two year break, funnily enough at the venue I played my last gig with them! It was a great night most people were happy to donate a little and listened when I explained what Neil and I were doing posing for photos and waving the Purple beauty about (now now, keep your naughty thoughts to yourselves!). The PB is now in Nottingham awaiting it's next adventure. I am happy to drive anywhere in the country ,with enough notice, to hand it over, so please offer your services....lets keep this going! Regards Ray Quote
Roland Rock Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I'd love to do this, but struggling to think how I'll cope with a four string at the gig - will give it some thought Quote
GrammeFriday Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I was going to suggest drop-tuning it to BEAD, but then thought better of it - having got to know PP a bit I'm not sure how well she would cope with that! Quote
Raymondo Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 A reminder......the bass is in Nottingham, and I can take it to where you live, if you want to keep the ball rolling! Quote
sbrag Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I'm happy to take the bass if it comes down near Bristol. Cheers Quote
Raymondo Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 I am sure I can sort that...i'll PM you. Quote
