throwoff Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I have to say Pete McCullough of Streetlight Manifesto may well be the best bassist most of you will never have heard of! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NTyCLU0Gv0 Quote
Bassection Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 (edited) Personally, my favourite bassist is Minei Makkatsu (Mackaz) There's not much on Youtube of his playing aside from in bands, except for the beginning of this video: And this one: Edited January 18, 2013 by Bassection Quote
LiamPodmore Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkqcQO_xIGA Rory O'Grady from Boomin. That's probably not the best example of them, but it's the one that shows off his bass part to that song best (Which is insanely fun to play) Liam Quote

Marvin Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Matt Brooks. He's in Willie and the Bandits and he's an absolutely incredible bass player, just stunning. Quote

ezbass Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Chris Childs. Probably best known for playing with Thunder, but it was his playing with Home Counties pub favourites Bad Influence (not with them now BTW) that used to blow me away. Nice bloke too. Quote
Dingus Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013
George Murray. What happened to him after Scary Monsters?
I regulaly wonder about that too ! He played on a Jerry Harrison (Talking Heads) solo album I seem to remember and then disappeared . He was/is a brilliant player who was an integral part of Bowies best ever backing band and his best albums , in my opinion . Quote
