marcus bell Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Just wanted to hear people's opinions really? Quote
leftyhook Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I think fender basses are the only type that look great having been starved of TLC. Quote
gjones Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Roadworn maybe? Here's a review from basschat http://basschat.co.uk/topic/84943-fender-road-worn-jazz/page__p__1788769__hl__roadworn__fromsearch__1#entry1788769 Edited January 19, 2013 by gjones Quote
marcus bell Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Thanks guys top info, definately on the wanting list! Quote
wateroftyne Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I've played a couple, including Warwickhunt'a which is for sale on here. They were both lovely, and I think the relic'ing is extremely tastefully done. Quote
MB1 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 MB1. I don't know how you get from Status Kingbass to Fender Roadkill? ...There's really no comparison!.However...the Roadkill I tried was actually rather tasty! Bon Apetite! Quote
Fat Rich Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013
MB1.
Yup, I have a few really beat up 70s Fenders as it's the easiest way to get that authentic classic Fender sound, and a few super shiny Status 5 stringers for everything else Quote
Lozz196 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Not played the RW Jazz, but have played the RW Precision, and it`s a great bass, really comfortable to play, and sounds great. Quote
craigonbass Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 i have one and it's a very nice easy bass to play, plus, I play in the house band at our local jam and it's no problem if anyone wants to borrow it!! Craig Quote
chris_b Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Why pay for someone to knock the bass about when you could do it yourself for free! I get the Am dlx series and work on the "worn" bit myself. Edited January 19, 2013 by chris_b Quote
BigRedX Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Like this? Quote
Lozz196 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Makes sense really. And people say Fenders are only good for one thing. How many other instruments are used to dig holes before being sold? Quote
marcus bell Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Really like the worn out and feel and look that way I'd be less precious about it too I guess Quote
flyfisher Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 'Road worn' basses remind me of that Harry Enfield sketch . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgysRim_zT4 Quote
