sshorepunk
I picked up a Jap Fender ,75 reissue a few weeks back, from the conversation I had, it dated about 10 years back and for it's age is in average to good condition! Decided to take a look at the serial today. It's A028453 with "made in Japan" on the headstock According to the various Fender dating sites out there, that puts it around 1985-1986! Fender serials I thought it was 1997 ish, but I think that would say "crafted in Japan" on the headstock. Can someone confirm this is correct? Tony
Musky
The 75 RI's were introduced around the mid nineties. I can only assume there was a slight overlap in the transition from MIJ to CIJ and the introduction of the new serial numbers. It's pretty safe to guess that your first thoughts about the date of the bass were correct.
