marcus bell
Hi guys I'm buying a warwick corvette passive and would like an active circuit, I know the original system is made by mec but don't know where to purchase from and have heard they are expensive, Can anybody recommend a product for me These are my needs 3 pot setup Volume Pickup pan Bass and treble stacked (Push/pull for active passive) if possible, not too fussed And must be able to work with the passive mec 'dynamic correction' pickups Thanks
ikay
Passive MEC pups should work with most pre's. Take a look at the 'Bass Preamp' section here for some ideas - http://www.bestbassgear.com/aguilar-preamp.htm
charic
This may sound a little stupid but why not either : Buy an active corvette from the start and save yourself the hassle or Buy an active corvette that's wrecked and just take what you want out of it and keep the rest as spares? throwoff
Are you sure it is passive EQ? My Vette has passive 'dynamic correction' pickups but an active EQ, quite a few of them do.
marcus bell
Definitely passive, and I'm buying the bass as a project
paul_5
Artec SE2A. don't know about the internal dimensions of the 'vette, but these are a good fit for Jazz basses. It's a modular unit, so the different pieces just connect via prefab wiring looms. Should be a doodle and they're cheap as chips. http://www.thomann.de/gb/artec_se2a.htm

warwickhunt
Yep MEC preamps are mega expensive new but they are generally dirt cheap if you find one used on ebay. However, I've fitted Aguilar OBP1 and Glock pres to match with MEC pups and they work great; there are loads of other pres that would do just as good a job.
