I imported this cab from the US manufacturer about 9 months ago. Its utterly superb for loud double bass applications and as a hi-fi cab for electric bass. Its the louder 4 ohm version as these are noted as slightly inefficient cabs, requiring a lot of "juice" (500W from an amp is good) to get maximum volume and performance. I cannot fault this amp for performance. However, I have a dodgy back and at 50 pounds its too heavy for me to hoik in and out of venues. I am going to replace with a lightweight, high quality 1x12" (EA or Epifani) for louder gigs with my DB.

So this uber-quality and hard-to-find on these shores cab is up for grabs at a very reasonable £400 collected. It cost me about £550 to import, including duty/HMRC costs and delivery. It is in perfect condition and comes with a flimsy (frankly rubbish) slip cover from the manufacturer, which at least prevents knocks and keeps out the elements.

Would prefer meet-up in London area (I live nr Hammersmith in West London) but I have found the box so I can post at cost

It looks completely new and here's a link to a pic of an identical cab: http://www.talkbass....39&d=1311697963

Marketing blurb and specs from website http://www.acmebass.com/#/products :

• A very compact cabinet with the bass extension of a good 18" subwoofer.

• Amazing transient response; from the fundamental of the open B-string, right up to the highest harmonics of a C or F-string.

• Loud enough for a single cabinet to hold its own against most drummers.

• High power handling. 350W RMS is a good starting point due to the relatively low efficiency of the cabinet. 500W RMS is ideal. The more power, the better the sound. (Within reason - It's only a 2x10"!)

• Use it with an upright bass for loud jazz gigs and be rewarded with true acoustic tone.

• A pair makes a very loud, versatile and compact rig. Stack them end on end for amazing dispersion and clarity or side by side for enormous kick. Use them as a high quality PA. For those occasions where true bass response is paramount, monitor your recordings with them. They really are that 'HiFi'! And the entire rig will still fit on the back seat of your compact hatch.

Model: Acme Low B-2 Series III

Frequency response: +/-3 dB 41Hz to 22 kHz -6 dB at 31 Hz

Power Handling: 350 Watts RMS continuous

300 Watts sine wave @ 30.87 Hz

Sensitivity: 93 dB 1W/1M

Impedance: Available in 4 or 8 ohms

Dimensions: 23"H x 15.75"W x 16.5"D

Weight: 50 lbs / 23.2 kg

Just checked new pricing: its $639 plus shipping (about $125 from memory), add in 21% HMRC/import and divide by 1.60 xc rate = £578 to get one into the UK, so £400 (if collected) is a 30% discount for a pristine, as-new example

Hi Chris, its very clear/hi-fi and uncoloured to my ears. A bit like Euphonic Audio in character. Goes very low and can handle 5 strings (hence Low B name), not that I have a 5 stringer! Gwilym has a pair of B1's (half a B2!) and I think Dood used to own a B2 so you could PM them for an unbiased third party opinion?

Here's some US reviews as I couldn't find any decent Youtube clips

Yep, what Clarky says actually! Tons of booty and for some daft reason, I sold it. Someone tell me why - I think actually, I suffer from the very worst G.A.S. I have turned over so much gear - not because I didn't like it, but because I wanted to play with something new!!

The B2 has a great extended low end - very clean and very little colour. You might find that the accentuated mids you may get from another cabinet will need to be EQ'd back in if that's your bag. - Sounds pretty good playing CD's in to it I found with a tweak of the tweeter and mid volume knobs to find that sweet spot.

Clarky, ordinarily, I'd be first in the queue to buy this off you, but I've just put a deposit on something a bit special.

Actually, it's cab shaped.... I need something that will serve me on larger stages so I've gone for something from the bloke who built your Crazy8.

Incidentally, would be happy to do a payment plan for those I have done biz with previously*, eg, 50% upfront (say £210 including postage) with the balance over 1-3 months

Edit: * this also applies to anyone with a long track record of good feedback or even a moderator!

Going to bump this one last time. If it doesn't sell soon, I will just buy an Ikea luggage trolley to cart this around on as the Wizzy cab I was after looks like its sold to someone else
