If you put coppr foil or tape uner the pots, it will be earthed by the pots surely, so theres no need to solder to it.

As for slugs, I tried wire and it didnt work, even tried putting a slug inside a circle of it, but it still got out. This year I,ll be trying 2 wires half an inch apart with an aa battey connected between. anybody tried that one ?

Shorting the batter with copper wire will run it out fairly quickly, need a resistor involved. Also its the joints between the copper pieces that need soldering, just in enough places its all connected, don't need to do whole seams.

Speed slugs go at, it would need to be about 2 hours long... :D

Two wires separated by half an inch won't form a short circuit. When a slug bridges the two wires it will find a small current flowing through it.

Exactly, try putting yer tongue on a 9V battery. Dunno how many ohms per inch a slug measures but it must be quite high with no salt content, so there wont be much current flowing and the slug wont stay there long.

I think this thread has very slowly gone off -topic, any other uses for Copper Foil (with conductive adhesive , obviously!)

Alarm tape, the sort you used to see on shop windows, under the wallpaper makes a good, invisible FM aerial.

Do you turn the room around then if it goes off slightly off tune?
