andydye Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 very lovely indeed! The angle of the a string as it passes over the nut looks quite extreme, I'm sure it's fine but it 'looks' harsh in the pic
GregBass Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Looks gorgeous. I was in Corby yesterday too
kurcatovium Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013
that's a beauty!
So true!
Britsie Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) I am getting very nervous from this bass. It is a beauty. Edited January 28, 2013 by Britsie
Bassdude BE Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Anyone here ever played one of these? they look the part, but i have no idea how they sound/play...
tauzero Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013
Anyone here ever played one of these? they look the part, but i have no idea how they sound/play...
I have - this very one, in fact. Sounds good, the neck on this one is rather chunkier than I like. Heath's other bass for sale wasn't finished when I visited so I didn't feel what the neck was like with strings on, but it's a shallower neck profile than this one. They are lovely basses.
mentalextra Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013
very lovely indeed! Although there doesn't appear to be very much string around the post either which isnt helping
W11ATO Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Good heavens, if that was a woman I'd propose ;-)
harleyheath Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Hay everybody, thank you for your comments!! I don't have any sound clips of this bass (sorry) but here is a couple of clips of one of my basses, it gives a general idea at least. http://youtu.be/2mwq8aE2f98 http://youtu.be/vGnkPNW3gC0 hope this helps a bit. Bit of a typo on my behalf, the pickups are two humbukers. The headstock angle is 11 degrees, I never put too much string on the post, its 2 on the 'B' then 2.5, 3 and the last two 4 winds. Thank you again. Heath
harleyheath Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 http://youtu.be/NDzA2zhiIOM one more.
lettsguitars Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013
I thought that too. looks odd. Although there doesn't appear to be very much string around the post either which isnt helping
Plenty of string on there. The less the better, within reason of course. More string on the post certainly wouldn't affect the angle of the A which I agree is a little sharp but I cant imagine it would have any adverse effects.
It does look worse than it is, but I have done a headstock redesign, to give a near straight string pull, still I love this shape better, lol. I love your headstocks, flipping lovely!
harleyheath Posted February 2, 2013 Author Posted February 2, 2013 Bass now sold. Many thanks to Steve (steverickwood) A lovely fella and a great bass player! Pleasure to meet you!
steverickwood Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 A lovely bass indeed and typically I have a weekend off so I cant gig it until.thurs! I have to say it was very difficult to choose between two lovely basses which both have great balance and necks (headstock angle completely normal) and fantastic electronics which im going to need a while to really exploit. Heath, top guy to deal with, excellent communication and very down to earth. Which I shall repeat in the feedback section! Will link you to my website and send.details over of my address in a bit. Glad you liked the carl thompson too B-)

harleyheath Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Hello Dave, Good to see you on here, I'm hoping to sand up your body woods this week end so I should have some better photos for you.
binky_bass Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Wow... looks awesome! Has a pedulla kinda vibe going on but for 1/5 the price! Wish I saw this earlier...
harleyheath Posted April 17, 2013 Author Posted April 17, 2013 Hay Binky, I most certainly don't mind being compared to pedulla, sweet, I see you own some serious basses, 13 strings, wow!! nice!! Thanks dude hope you have a great week!
harleyheath Posted April 17, 2013 Author Posted April 17, 2013 Oh an you come from my old stomping ground of essex, where abouts are you?
White Cloud Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Very, very nice. To be honest this bass looked under priced to me judging by the quality of its appearance. I tend to agree with the Pedulla comparison too.
