EssentialTension
Thomann are showing these with a price but they also say: 'The item you selected is currently unavailable and the distributor is probably unable to deliver at short notice.' Is someone making these again or are they merely unavailable because they've been unavailable for years? evilLordJuju
Holy Mackerel! I wonder how close they'll be to that pic, Would be amazing if they got some Bisonics rebuilt for 2013... but i'm guessing they'll stick some very different hardware and pickups on Still, will be interesting to see
I think that is a US made limited edition (40 or so only) with NOS humbuckers and is different to, as well as much more expensive than, the Thomann model above which is apparently called Newark Street Collection.. See the relevant threads at the Let's Talk Guild forum. Here's the rumoured to be Korean version: http://www.lamusic.c.../3792400866.htm Edited January 24, 2013 by EssentialTension
EssentialTension
Just noticed the ebay listing says: 'This 2012 Guild Starfire I bass is a special limited edition production run produced by the wonderful luthiers from Guild's New Hartford, CT factory. The bass in this listing is # 2 of only 11 ever produced'.
AndyTravis
Saw the spec sheet on these today, they're Korean, and look the dogs. Wish they'd have done a two pickup one, but this is fine. Cherry only too at the minute.

bertbass
Used to own one in the early 80s. Nice bass but didn't get on with the short scale. I used to have to play the bottom string with only half the force of the other string or the notes would go sharp. It's the way I play, I can't help it. henry norton
There's a fair bit on Lets Talk Guild and Talk Bass. The reaction's been decidedly mixed regarding the quality but the sound is meant to be pretty close - whether it's close to a Hagstrom Bisonic or a Hammon Dark Star isn't clear.
