Fettsman Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 (edited) My dreams of standing in front of my dream green stack have been usurped by the joys of a lightweight EBS rig. This is sitting in the cupboard and getting in the way. In the interests of domestic etc etc, it's got to go. It's a 12 band AH300 built in July 1999. Everything is working beautifully with the exception of the front panel illumination which has good days and bad days. The footswitch is included which has a few scruffs and scratches but it's spent it's working life being stepped on. The amp was serviced by EMS in 2011 courtesy of the previous owner. All output devices replaced, rebuild of fan stage and everything stripped and rebuild. Should go on for years. Instruction manuals and service diagrams included. Open to offers of trade in the four string Fender department but not much else really, try me though, you never know. Otherwise postage arranged at cost. Cheers Andrew Edited February 11, 2013 by Fettsman
JohnFitzgerald Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 The big brother to my AH150-7. Same era, same covering. And I have the cabs too. Unfortunately, I couldn't bridge the gap between what I'd get and what you need to get for yours. Best of luck with the sale. I'd love it,but can't stretch to it unfortunately.
Bass Culture Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Dare one ask how much it weighs? I'm presuming about as much as a small car...
Fettsman Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 I'll stick it on the scales, if I can find them!
Fettsman Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 Found the scales, found a battery to replace the flat one, weighed them, 36 pounds. That's just over 16 kilos in modern parlance. Not back breaking!
RandomBass Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Morning! Do you know exactly what the problem is with the front panel illumination? Is it simple fix? Cheers Geoff
Fettsman Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Basically the panel has a few leds in it (the whole panel is a stick on label) that give up the ghost after a while. It's not the circuit providing the power. All the front panel switches are fine, it's just the backlit graphics. I don't think there are any spares in the country but British Audio Services across the pond do have them. The lights do come on but some days they go after ten minutes, sometimes they stay on indefinitely. If you're not bothered about the lights it's still a fantastic amp. Everything else works just as good as the day it was born! Edited January 27, 2013 by Fettsman
JohnFitzgerald Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 On mine, it's actually an electroluminesescent panel. Same era, so possibly same type of panel. It works well mostly but does not at all like getting cold.
Fettsman Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 It may well be electroluminescent for all I know. It's a long time since I took A level physics!!! Funnily enough I need warming up before I work properly.
sloth132 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Would trading it for a 1000w hartke hydrive bass cab be out of the question??if I had the cash I'd take it off your hands in a second trace elliots are the shizz haha Edited January 27, 2013 by sloth132
Fettsman Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Sorry, my aging frame loves my EBS Reidmar and Classic Cabs. Everytime I spark up the Trace, I wish my back was twenty years younger!!! Edited January 27, 2013 by Fettsman
sloth132 Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Fair enough mate I get what you mean, just thought I'd have a crack lol
Fettsman Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 Anybody fancy a great sounding classic nineties British amp on a Tuesday evening bump?
Fettsman Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Gone on the dreaded Ebay but still available on here!
Fettsman Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 I think I might play through this tonight at our gig in Hinckley, might decide to hang on to it but still open to sales or trades. Oh, and a little bump to the top for a slightly hungover Saturday morn!
