Welcome. I don't need the pictures having once been the very lucky owner of one of these basses (there is a sunburst refin on sale here for 10k at the moment).

They are stunningly good basses with a really hefty sound. If I had 10k I would be the owner of the other one.

I gather this isn't actually one of the original basses - it is a copy you have built.

Probably still very nice - I have speculatedf that the extra oomph in the originals is much to do with the slab body so I would expect it to be very nice. Get a price on the ad and I may well be interested.

Yes the originals were great, I played Chris Kefford's slab back in the days when he & Roy Wood used to come down to his girlfriends house, which was where we had the basement set up for playing.

I believe the other thread started in the for sale section but must have been moved by a mod, most likely because it doesn't comply with the rules.

Judging from this youtube vid, it sounds nothing like an original  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b6M59ldtds or is it just me

In what way, am now intrigued, though my suspicions are the originals had a lot more "ooommppphh"? As that one has a nice sound, but is very refined for a Precision.

MB1.
Sorry for any confusion there's just one ad ...this one! that was in the Basses for sale section
Which it clearly isn't! (No Price)
Just posting a link to another site without a price is not acceptable.
Confusing really seems he wanted a appraisal / recommendation of some sort ? ..So far 99% of cat owners have expressed a preference?.

Can I take this opportunity to apologise to Basschat community if I have offended anybody by my posts regarding 'toting' for prospective business. I understand that this is not the place for that. However, I would love the opportunity to open discussion regarding my basses whether good or bad. I have tried to pay homage to this wonderful and iconic bass guitar. Your views on this are critical! Once again, please accept this apology from a newbie.

I think it is a great initiative, building those basses for people that can't or don't want to do it themselves. There are a couple of things about your version of the bass that I am not sure about because they are different from the original.

- The truss rod adjustment at the headstock, I like the cleaner look of the original.
- The modern bridge looks a bit out of place on a vintage and raw design like a slab body.
- Last and least: 21 frets. I am not sure if prospective buyers would ever go that high on the neck.

Could you post some specifications of your bass? I understand that they are custom made but some basic specs and dimensions (nut width, neck profile etc.) would be interesting to know.
