wriggers Posted January 25, 2013 Share Posted January 25, 2013 Been thinking about it for a while and finally got off my fat bottom and did something about it. I had a band about 5 years ago which fell apart after a year. Before and after that I was in 2 very different folk duos. I took up bass a couple of years ago and joined a soul band 3 months ago. Anyway my new band have had 2 rehearsals and I'm dead excited about it. That's probably the kiss of death but I'm going to run with it. We are looking at 4 songs to start with; The Wayfaring Stranger (bit funky), Lord Randall (bit swingy, walking bass line sort of t'ing) both from my traditional folk repertoire. Also Shelter From The Storm (bit rocky) and a song wot I wrote about the Halifax guillotine (bit reggae). The band is a 3 piece, me vox and 5 string, Pat on guitar and possibly keys and Brad, young guy on drums. If I don't kiss the band to death expect to see some soundcloud links soon.
