I wanna PJ bass!

I would have got one for Xmas, but lots of car repairs put pay to that.I'm hoping that this year I can celebrate my own NBD,so I am after suggestions from all BC'ers.
The criteria is:
must be new
£350 max
passive
no pointy headstocks.
Brand name isn't an issue, and I'm not bothered about rosewood or maple on the fretboard.
Answers please!

i played a peavey recently in pmt(salford) it had 1/4lb seymour duncans p/j set, a great neck slim with low action too.
couldnt fault it and it was £349 brand new
dont know the model name but it was one of the nicest playin basses in the shop at any price.

That'll be the Zodiac DE. Looks interesting.

I'd go for a Tribute G&L SB2. These are amazing basses for the money. One thing that
puts people off them is the lack of a tone knob. It was Leo's intention for the jazz pick up
to be used as a tone knob. If this is not suitable, then a small upgrade would be the way to go.
Personally, I use mine as Leo intended, and can dial in "my tone". That split coil pick up is hotter than most
active basses.

g&l sb2 is a great bass(one of the best off the shelf p/j in my opinion) but not within the criteria given, Must be New, £350 max

Agreed. Forgot to factor in the shipping and import cost when I gave the Ebay link earlier.

Having said that, for the extra few pounds, I'd jump at this offer. ;)

It is an awesome deal. I would have bought it myself had it been the black one. I got a black one, again from Germany, but it was significantly more than Euroguitar are doing the white ones for.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Please keep them coming.
I better add that the money for the new bass won't be available until I have filed this years tax return.I'm hoping HMRC are kind to me!
Second,I can't get on with Jazz bass bodies,or any bass without decent contouring.
Neepheid,I've had a Yammy, and I'm sorely tempted to get another one.
Chismuzz,I had'nt considered a Peavey.I'll give them a look.
Hamfist,ta for the link to the German retailer. The SB2 looks great, and reviews of them seem to be favourable.
Anyone got any comments about the ESP LTD Vintage 204?

Tempting....
I had one in white.Great neck, superb build quality, excellent sound.But.......bloody huge! When I strapped it on it felt like I had a shield in front of me.
Useful for the rougher gigs,though!
