Geek99 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Does anyone know what the eBay final value fees on instruments are ? Sale likely to be around £700, I know cars are subject to a different final value fee Thanks Quote
jonno1981 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Should be 10% of the final value. If the buyer uses paypal then a further 3.4%. If you log into ebay, go to my ebay select the listing, then edit the listing at the very bottom it should show you the final value fee. Quote
Geek99 Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 thanks -was just wondering if its different for higher ticket items Quote
jonno1981 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I think it's capped at £75 for private sellers, so you don't pay more if your item sells for anything over £750. For business sellers it's 10% of the total regardless which is a right pain in the backside! Quote
uncle psychosis Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/fees.html I think its 10%, capped at £75. Quote
Geek99 Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 (edited) Didn't know about the cap, thanks Never sold anything high value there Edited January 28, 2013 by Geek99 Quote
PaulWarning Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 ebay is a conumdrum, we all know it's a rip off, but you get to the biggest market by selling through them so you will probably get a higher price. I refused to sell my Stingray through them, sold it on here for less but actually got a bit more for it when the fees were taken into consideration, which are nearly £100 on a £700 item Quote
ezbass Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 The fees used to be quite reasonable and when everyone started to use it they bumped up the fees. I only buy on eBay now because of this. If you're selling musical gear BC all the way I reckon; less hassle, better communications, common ground, all sorts of reasons and all for a little contribution to the BC coffers if you feel so inclined. danthevan Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Yep, 10% with a max of £75. Main reason Gumtree is so popular! Quote
Geek99 Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 I have tried both here and gum tree :/ Quote
