Hi there.

Ive been lurking around for sometime stealing information for my own good and scouring the sale threads for gear (the good stuff is always down south).

Just wanted to actually say hi and introduce myself properly.

So there you go.

Hi.

Hi. :)

Welcome to the surface, and feel free to continue stealing.
I always find it funny when people lurkalot and even then still decide to surface. They must be as crazy as the rest of us. But kudos for it.

Are you new at this stuff, or already famous n stuff?
Do you have bass gear that would be interesting for us to see pictures of?
Pics of the wife?
Credit card number and codes?

Enjoy!

Hey all,
thanks for the welcomes.
I'm a late returner after a 15 year hiatus but instead of the root note basher I once was , i'm actually doing it properly and taking some lessons.

35, no wife (praise the lord)

G&L L2000
crappy little practice amp.
double bass

Play in a few bands

krautrock to jazz to folk.

it's all fun.

As for the credit card numbers, what now??????
I dont think the bank would allow me to have one. i havent held a job down for years

Ash, am I detecting an E-bow on one of the pics?
If so, what sayest thou 'bout it?
I've read earlier that people modify them to better fit the bass, and/or tap the strings to start them moving.

yes. ebow indeed.

used it for a gig tonight in fact. Now I'm on flats it's even tougher to get teh string going but I do tap it on occasion, although I prefer it to come in naturally. I'm fortunate enough to be in a band that does what the hell it wants on stage so the bow doesnt have to be going at a specific time. Alsio hand control helps as the grooves on it are set for guitar (bluegh, Guitarists annoy me, especially ones who play bass. "Oh i play the bass like a guitar". Well, cos of you I have to try and be much more impressive and learn sh*t that they play.) anyway, enough rant. get one with an overdrive/fuzz and reverb pedal. Loads of fun.
