Yamaha - "French Revolution: Modded TRB!

Well... it's the first fretless that doesn't make me look away imediatly... but then again on the pic there's the headstock featuring on the side so it could be an optical ilusion...

I would call it a fake (or montage) unless the top neck piece already comes with fret 0 as part of the system, the alternative would have some wood work done on that area to be able to aply the fret.

Headless?

I can particularly vouch for the validity in the headless six-string concept. None are particularly light, and anything that reduces the tendency to point toward the floor is welcome!

It has to be fake. Look at the sculpting at the bottom of the body around the bridge on the headless bass. That would require stripping the finish, doing some extensive routing to accommodate the new bridge piece and then refinishing it before putting it all back together. You have to ask, who would bother on a TRB1006? Nobody, I suspect.

It's real, it was done by Bassline in Germany.

Do you have an idea how the 'conversion' works with the change of bridge and body shape, like Chris2112 describes?

I don't know how they did it, but I'm impressed!
Here's some more of their customizing work:

And this is their own line of instruments:

:o Did you see that Wal 5 string with the Noll electronics? Sacrilege! Why, oh why would you remove Wal electronics and replace them with some inferior product?

It looks like this company specialises in pointless vandalism of perfectly good instruments .
