Teebs
Matamp. My Ibanez Promethean practice amp had an input stage problem - @Taylor beach-blues recommended Matamp in Meltham, West Yorkshire. Fixed then and there by Jeff in the wonderful Aladdins Cave that is the Matamp workshop. Highly recommended & thanks again to Taylor BB 👍

TheGreek
Another thumbs up 👍👍 for Mal Crawley in Stevenage who serviced and repaired both my AH300 and AH150 over a two week period at very reasonable cost. Can't speak highly enough of the service and standard of work. https://www.facebook.com/mal.crawley http://www.theampworkshop.co.uk/
chardbass
I’m looking for an amp repair and service- I’m based in Worcester. Anyone know if Steve at Musical Electronic Repairs in Brum is still operational? The first post is pretty old now. Are there any other recommendations from West Mids players? I found Worcester Amps in Evesham by searching online but would rather a recommendation.

chardbass
When I lived in the SW I used to drive down to Exeter for amp repairs. I think his name was Jon Godsland. He traded under the name Orchid Electronics.

PTV
Anyone got any recommendations for a amp tech Birmingham/Black Country or Worcestershire way? I’ve got a Laney B1 head that I love but it seems there’s a power amp problem. When I run into an external power amp she sounds delightful. Really want to save this amp Pic of her. dclaassen
I am going to need a nearby tech (Cambridgeshire) as I am getting a non-working vintage Fender amp in soon. Any recommendations?
SteveXFR
I've used Ian Davies in Glastonbury to repair my Orange Terror. Proper old school electronics engineer who fixes things rather than just swapping boards. He replaced some transistors on the power section of my amp and got it working like new for a bargain price. https://hifirepairspecialist.com/
Downunderwonder
What this thread needs is a directory. Youse jokers should have a better idea than me of how to divvy up the UK so recommended techs can be found in a search of the driveable regions from the unfortunate with the smoked amp. County by County? Police Districts? That would be a lot more useful than a whole lot of plaintive cries for help from every corner that mostly remain unanswered.

I will work on anything that is not surface mount (I don't have the gear or the eyesight for that!). I've repaired many valve amps, solid state as well as bass wiring and speakers and keyboards - in other words I'll have a go at most things!
