99ster Posted March 21 Posted March 21 Chris Fantana of Rift Amps https://www.riftamps.com/repairs His hand-wired valve guitar amps are very highly regarded by our 6 string friends - but he is also a superb amp tech, especially for proper valve amps. Highly recommended. Quote
franzbassist Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Is there anyone out there who can check over digital amps? Quote

Usually use Roland Lumby but he only takes on valve work now. Dave Lunt seems to have retired from what i gather Its a hybrid Fender Bassman that needs a new volume pot as it has sheared off. Looks like the post go straight into the board so could be a big job Just spoke to Dave Lunt, he says he would like it to be known he has certainly not retired! Although he might change his mind tomorrow after looking at my SVT. 2 1 Quote
mowf Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I have just spent a pleasant morning with Dave Lunt and can confirm he is still very much firing on all cylinders. With me doing the heavy lifting, he gave my 1981 SVT a quick service, tested all the valves, replacing three of the preamp ones which were a bit noisy, and tweaked the bias settings to get rid of most of the hum. He's based in Macclesfield, Cheshire and I would heartily recommend him with the caveat that you might need to pitch in and help if your amp weighs 3 tons like mine! Quote
