highwayone Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Somehow landed myself on lead vocals in a band and was looking into getting a wireless set up as most gigs are in pokey pubs and cables are getting trodden on and tangled up and is a ball ache in general. Anyone on here got one or had one that they recommend? Cheers Quote
charic Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I would recommend on concentrating find a mic that suits you and if you really have the need then get a wireless for it afterwards. If it's already wireless, that's just a treat. IMHO finding a mic that suits you should come first. How much are you looking at spending? Quote
highwayone Posted January 30, 2013 Author Posted January 30, 2013 I've currently got a Shure SM58 wired as I play bass and do backing vocals in a covers band but the other band I'm in are singerless and I've 'inherited' the frontman post which requires a bit of moving around! Prepared to pay upto around £200 I guess which will prob get something secondhand, haven't a clue what a half decent one costs Quote
Ancient Mariner Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 We use wireless mics at the church, with a mix of SM58s and Sure's cheaper *58 version. The cheaper version have a roll off of high end, are much less susceptible to feedback and are generally flattering to voices (I did sound for a guest singer, and she said that she'd never sounded so good and wanted to know what I'd done).
