wayside Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Hi All, I'm new to this site. I've recently acquired 2 nice pieces of Alder and want to have a go a making a Jazz Bass from the early 1960's. Anyone out there know of a source for an accurate blue print so I can make some templates? Or if anyone local has one that I can measure, I'd be very greatful. I'm based near Hinckley Leicestershire Look forward to hearing from someone. Quote
JazzBassFan Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 hi mate. http://www.tdpri.com/forum/tele-home-depot/169606-1960-jazzbass-build.html get in touch with him cheers, Andy Quote
6v6 Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 There are a quite a few build threads on tdpri which sometimes include links to diagrams, e.g: http://www.tdpri.com/forum/tele-home-depot/267496-jazz-bass-plans-opinions-knowledge.html http://www.gitarrebassbau.de/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6&start=0 The Jazz bass PDF in that second link looks pretty accurate but I guess you may still need to compare with the real thing. You might also want to consider some ready made templates - from what I've read those from Ron Kirn seem well regarded but I've not (yet) tried them myself. http://ronkirntemplates.bigcartel.com/ Quote
BassTractor Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Hey Wayside, Welcome to hither. There's also ready made templates on eBay, from a seller called rockandroll-teez. Enjoy the site! best, bert Quote
