Panamonte Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 If anyone's interested, Kyle Eastwood has just announced some UK dates. What do we reckon - credible musician in his own right, or still trading on the family name? I thought this was decent enough, although it's a shame that the pianist seems to be having so much trouble finding the set of keys he's dropped inside the piano Quote
Doddy Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 He's totally credible as a musician in his own right now.I'm sure his name may have helped somewhat to begin with, but he's past that point now. I saw him a couple of years ago in Southport and he was really good.He plays great electric and upright. His last two albums have been ace too. Quote
Big_Stu Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I'd certainly give him a listen on his own merits. Possibly loosley related, you be the judge..... a few years ago I went to see Steven Segal in his guise as blues guitarist. Unusual technique using his thumb nail as a pick, and very good at what he did, he told about getting guitar lessons from both Muddy Waters and Albert Collins while "sat on the stoop of his shack"; which could be true but there a few looks around. Roland Rock Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Does that mean he's Stan Laurel's grandson? Quote
Panamonte Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 Must confess that I hadn't encountered that particular urban myth before - how peculiar! Quote
