geilerbass
Nice one! I think Wooten is a must - I saw him with Bela Fleck last year and he was awesome. Would be great to see the guy with his own band.
poptart
Mike Congrats - who's the daddy now I hope the new family is well. Well, maybe they'll do 'things' more responsibly here, in Britain, but back then, it felt like they didn't look seriously at that gig. BTW, Return to Forever will perform in Lithuania on July 2nd Wish the best, Faith. Edited May 20, 2008 by Faithless

6stringbassist
Definitely, Stan Clarke last month, Matt Garrison tomorrow, and Victor Wooten next month. All I need now is for Anthony Jackson and Janek Gwizdala to come and play, that'll be my top
urb
hey guys - just give this a little bump - as it's been a mad few weeks for amazing bass players visiting London - Richard Bona over in March, Tony Grey and Stanley Clarke in town May but... I saw Dominigue DiPiazza last weekend playing in place of Hadrien Feraud with John McLaughlin - it was simply incredible - I've seen Dom play before but not with a full band on a slamming gig- he was amazing. I was lucky to hang with him afterwards and he's a lovely guy - he said this is first time he's had callouses on his fingers from playing in many years - that's cos it was loud! Dom is playing his best ever I think - a truly awesome player. Anyway Matt will be amazing tomorrow - and yes Victor is though in just under a month - and JEFF BERLIN is at Ronnie Scott's next week Mon - Wed with Larry Coryell and Paul Wertigo in a trio. Let them come to you is my philosophy... Victor will be great at the Jazz Cafe - and Stanley is back with Return To Forever in late July.... Yay! Bring on the noise!

bassjamm
Hello you beautiful people! Well i managed to rock on down to see Matt Garrison and his elite trio last night. My oh my...all i can say is 'amazing'...these guys are serious serious musicians. I was blown away, they really did kick ass. I'd listened to Garrison a bit before hand, but last night just showed me how little i knew about his abilities. He is the master of the bass! Great gig!!! 6stringbassist
He was fantastic, I know that's an adjective that gets used a lot, but he seriously was fantastic. The drummer was amazing too, I have an album called 'If' by Fahir Atakoglu with Anthony Jackson on bass, Horacio plays drums on that too if anyone fancies checking him out.
