Ian Savage
Thinking about getting one as a downgrade to my current recording rig to make it a bit more portable but I've got a few questions which I can't find the answers to from Googling; is anyone here using one who wouldn't mind me picking their brains? Ta!
dannybuoy
I have one! Had for around 5 years now, didn't realise they were still being made? What do you want to know? My base unit seems to have died, occasionally it would fire into life if I left it plugged in long enough, but the removable part still works fine! Ian Savage
I have one! Had for around 5 years now, didn't realise they were still being made?
They're not, I'd be looking secondhand; if it'll do the couple of things I'm not sure about though should suit me perfectly!
What do you want to know?
Right, one I THINK I've found out the answer to and the other I've no idea - will the whole thing (i.e. base unit and 'pod') work as a simple mixer without anything connected to the Firewire, and (SUB-question!) will the base station still work as a basic mixer without the pod in it?
My base unit seems to have died, occasionally it would fire into life if I left it plugged in long enough, but the removable part still works fine!
So I guess you might not be able to check out my queries, but I appreciate the offer just looking at one as I use my recording rig as my home entertainment setup too, but as the other half's now moved in with me I'd quite like to be able to take my laptop and the 'pod' bit into the bedroom for noodling and still leave her with a functional music / DVD system in the living room. Cheers man!
