skankdelvar Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) From NAMM 2013 - Ladeez 'n' Gemmun - the all-new Gibson N-225! RRP $2332. Lovely, innit Henry Juskiewicz cutting his own cock off with a rusty soup can. Again. Edited February 1, 2013 by skankdelvar
Beer of the Bass Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 (edited) I guess tastes vary, because other than the scribbly finish I would cheerfully play one of those. The natural maple one on the website looks great IMO. Edited February 1, 2013 by Beer of the Bass
3below Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 Burns Bison or whatever re-issue? Not for me, sorry. I am a Gibson bass lover, the ES335 bass will finish my marriage lol, but will be worth every penny.
MiltyG565 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013
From NAMM 2013 - Ladeez 'n' Gemmun - the all-new Gibson N-225! RRP $2332. Lovely, innit Henry Juskiewicz cutting his own cock off with a rusty soup can. Again.
I think it's good. I think a lot of gibson guitars aren't that great to look at. This one is something fresh and eye catching, you have to remember that they are trying to appeal to new customers, and while lots of people love the old LP and SG's, some people just want something more modern. It has more of the appeal that a strat would have with it's soft rounded contours and flowing shape. The bottom cut-away looks great, looks like it would maintain that SG access to the very last fret.
Mykesbass Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Looks like one of those Playstation/X Box controller things (sorry, I'm incredibly old and feel like the judge who hadn't heard of the Beatles)
BigRedX Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 It's a bit boring and bland but not horrible as such...
Ancient Mariner Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Reminds me of a Tiesco body style. Probably not a winner then.
GarethFlatlands Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Hmm, just get a Gordon Smith if you want a double cut, and for less money too.
Dave Vader Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Is that the return of the horrible Maestro Trem system as well?
lettsguitars Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 For the guitar hero generation. I firmly believe Gibson have had their day. Just too monstrous a company to appeal to me anymore. I always imagine execs sitting around a boardroom coming up with these things. Not rock n roll anymore is it.
charic Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 It is a little bit like one of the controllers but I think that's mostly the finish.
fumps Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 ***Dons steel helmet*** I really like that, like what's said above though, not keen on that finish but i like the shape
BigRedX Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 It does look better on the other finish versions where you can see the f-holes.
Big_Stu Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 The keylines on the body remind me of some bloke who got there first with the bass version .............
Dave Vader Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 but the whammy bar looks like it came off a woolies top twenty guitar from the bad old days. Yuck.
skankdelvar Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013
It does look better on the other finish versions where you can see the f-holes.
Only fair to show them, I s'pose, he muttered sulkily. Funnily enough, the Maestro trem's about the only thing I like about this item. But not in black.
Low End Bee Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Hideous. Looks like a cut and shut or what happens when Gibsons too close marry.
lettsguitars Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 The natural one is the best of the bunch.
BigRedX Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I like the red one. It needs the full-length Maestro tail-piece though, and chrome hardware.
Dr M Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Wow, after all of Gibson's rage with other companies ripping off their designs, I'm surprised to see them ripping off Line 6. That thing looks just like the original Variax!
Dave Vader Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 nice to see they've paid attention to Mr Phillips though, single coil at the neck (for blues) and a humbucker at the bridge (for metal)
fumps Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I wonder if they will lower the action to a gnats c*ck level
