Hi.
Millers Music & Ken Stevens, 12 Sussex Street, http://www.kenstevens.co.uk/

Wide variety of instruments, each time I've been in they seem to be ok.

Millers music/Ken Stevens/whatever it's called is a reasonable place to kill a bit of time. Sometimes they even have something at a sane price too. DV247 not so much. Agree that Fopp is cool - only place I do my Xmas shopping apart from Amazon.

Whole bunch of museums: http://www.cam.ac.uk/museums/ and quite a few of your of your beardy CAMRA real ale pubs if that's your thing. Cambridge Blue and Live & Let Live get quite busy; Elm tree is quieter and nearer the centre

Depending on the weather you could practice your punting and serenade her on the waters of the Cam once she's done with what she's doing...

Yup just dv and ken Stevens im afraid. Arena music was the only real guitar based shop that you could browse through. The dv guys are great though and will get stuff in if you want to try anything.

If you've got a day to kill get down Cambridge Blue, just off Mill rd down Gwydir st. Awesome selection of world beers.

Ken stevens if pretty much standard cheap to moderate basses, DV have some slightly more exciting models.

If you go to digital village, check out Al Amin just up the road (same side, heading out of town) most excellent samosas. Guaranteed no horsemeat or pork.

Couple of hundred metres further up the road, devonshire arms has great beer. Looks like a real ale twats pub but is pretty friendly.

Not an instrument shop, but Cambridge boasts an excellent branch of Fopp records. Bargains abound.

Was recently looking a bit dodgy for Fopps, who were owned by HMV.
However, looks like they've managed to survive this - good news as a great shop for a browse.
I always end up in there for at least an hour, and usually come away with lots of stuff (at great prices).

It's not really good here for music shops. If you go to ken Stevens and want to buy anything tell them your bass Teacher sent you. Pm me if you want a name to use.
Want any gig recommendations or want to come to a jam night whilst you are here?

Ps. Digital village has turned massively guitar based recently. Used to be all hi fi only, but now a good range of bass stuff. Bitch to find somewhere to park near tho. Best bet is pay and display on st barnabas road and a 3 minute walk.

Piano Forte is worth a look as they sometimes have some tasty Double Bass' in stock.

It is a bit out of town but a short bus ride is all it takes.

There's a PMT opening on East road soon, taking over the hole left by Blockbuster. Doesn't look like it's going to be open in the next few days, but maybe by the 28th..?
