CliveT
On your MXR bass octave deluxe do you prefer the mid boost at 400 hz or 850 hz? I can hear merits in both and am still deciding what's best on my P bass so would be interested in what you guys prefer. Thanks

pantherairsoft
Try both - but try them WITH a band mix. Both let it cut through the mix differently, the most effective one will depend on how guitars or keys are EQ'd. I prefered the 400 when playing at home/solo, but found the 850 better in a band mix. pantherairsoft
I don't use the pedal anymore, but when I was using it, it would of been either a fretted Roscoe with Demeter Pre, or feet less Roscoe with Bart pre.

[/quote] After trying both in the mix 850 did seem to cut though best for me too. It just emphasized the tone of my passive basses better. With my set-up 400 hz sounded too harsh and different from the bypassed tone.
