The standard pedal has an iritating hike in volume when on and no way of adjusting, so this has a volume pot added to the output. It comes as standard with a non-standard power supply which is a pain if you use it with other pedals, also the standard one is not true bypass meaning it will to some extent colour the sound even when its not on. These mods make a great sounding pedal much better for gigging. I've owned both and couldn't gig with the standard one due to the volume increase.
