niceguyhomer
Can't believe it, just paid £44 for a set of DR Fat Beams and managed to break the 130 B string while tuning up Arse.
Mudpup
Send them back - think theyve had a bad batch according to the other American bass forums. Loads of people posted on there about it and they seem to be pretty good at sorting replacements.
niceguyhomer
Yeh, I'll give 'em a call in the morning and see what they want to do. Hopefully I can keep the other 4 on and just send the B back.
eude
Also, spot paying so much for them! I buy strings here, usually >> http://stores.ebay.co.uk/bassspecialties Much cheaper than the usual unacceptable UK rip off prices, even including international shipping... The Bass Doc
If it helps even as a temporary measure I have a spare 125 Fat Beam string sitting in a drawer - it's been there a little while but is unused/uncut. You'd be welcome to it if you need to keep the bass gigging while taking the complaint up with whoever.
niceguyhomer
Thanks a lot Bass Doc - I really appreciate your help but I think I'll be ok. I put the old B back on which'll see me through this weekend's gig. I rang the aptly monikered Stringbusters this morning and they're posting a replacement B string out to me today with a SAE to return the broken one. jackers
I also use eBay stores (some in the US) for my DR strings, I recently bought 3 sets of sunbeams from the US for 18 quid a set including postage. Great service and fast delivery OT: good to hear you are getting it sorted. Edited February 8, 2013 by jackers
