Twigman
I also might bring my Warmoth PJ and a soldering iron....... I would like a second opinion on how the pickups interact and how I might wire them up to be a little more practical...... Is it worth bringing and will there be anyone there who might be able to diagnose my issues and advise me on how to fix it?

seashell
Opened car bonnett to check oil this morning. Couldn't close it again! Now in local Ford garage waiting for someone to have a look at it. Am in a queue behind loads of other people. This could take some time. :-(
molan
Forgot to say I'll bring a few accessories along too. Maybe some Mono straps, the new cool stretchy straps Phil has in, Fretwraps that sort of stuff. Everything reduced for people at the event today That includes all instruments as well. . . gary mac
Just back from the bash and very good it was too. Good to meet a few of my cyber friends, although not able to get a chat with everyone as I couldn't stay all that long. A very well done and thanks to the organisers. Truckstop
Had a lovely afternoon (a bit because quite severely hungover ) and found Lawrence's talk illuminating. Great player! Also blown away by the custom Carvins displayed by Barrie (Molan); amazingly versatile and articulate. Looking forward to some photos! bassface2k10
Well Done Mick and Lozz, well organised bash full of top people, have to say what a nice down to earth guy Laurence Cottle is, not a bad player too (that bass scales book should put him right ;-) Simons effects talk and demo was top notch too, nice to hear both of them in action. My daughter took a truck load of pictures so I'll post them once she has gone through them. Edited June 1, 2013 by bassface2k10
TheGreek
My thanks to everybody who came...hopefully everybody enjoyed themselves, I personally enjoyed Laurence's seminar - great guy, very down to earth and easy to speak to...I have thanked him again via email but would just like to say here what a fantastic contribution he made to our first event which has inspired us to think about another next year. I like to specially thank SiBob for his seminar on pedals, especially at he stepped in at short notice. Hope you managed to get to your gig in good time too... Can't tell you how much was made yet but I can say that the centre will benefit from what happened today. The venue was the local Youth club for Bassface 2k10 and myself when we were growing up and it has been a good experience giving something back. Like many other Youth centre in the country, it struggles for funding so your financial contributions will be very welcome. I will post more info on Tuesday evening after I've had a chance to speak to the Centre Manager. For those who might be interested the venue is available for bands to play - check with the centre for more detail. Special thanks to Lozz196 for his help with the catering, Bassface2K10 and his daughter Louise for generally helping out and to my mate Kev and his mum Pauline for help with tea and coffee. Kev actually suffers with severe anxiety so for him to get out with loads of strangers was a big achievement for him. I'd also like to thank Molan for bringing Bass Gear to the event - fortunately I managed to restrain myself from buying anything. Hope it was worth your while if only for networking. I know that next time I'm shopping for something this will be my first port of call. More thanks to drummer Eric Young who 10 hours earlier had been in Norway, shame that his skills were not put to more use but thanks for coming. I'd also like to thank everybody who contributed to the raffle prizes - I've held on to those which weren't taken and will hopefully be putting these up for sale here and the proceeds going to the Breaks Manor. My thanks again... Edited June 2, 2013 by TheGreek

Sibob
I had a great time, thanks for having me waffle on about effects for a bit . I do enjoy it a lot, so hopefully people take something from it. Was a well organised event in a cool venue, shame I couldn't stay to chat more and see Laurence, but had to rush over to Winchester to play. Cheers Si
