aende
If I have a basic pickup, can I add a normal active boost to it? Or does it have to be a pickup designed to be boosted? I.e. My Fleabass project, I quite like the pickup, but feel I need a boost. The aguilar OBP1 looks a likely candidate!
LiamPodmore
Most active circuits are just passive pickups running into an active EQ, so you shouldn't have a problem there as far as i can see. Liam
BigRedX
Why do you want to boost it? Wouldn't turning the input gain on your amp up be cheaper?

LukeFRC
If you are going to stick a preamp in look for a clone of one of the early stingray preamps;
JapanAxe
Love the sound of the Glockenklang 2-band in my Sandberg - then again you wouldn't need the blend pot in your Fleabass would you?
rednose200
All good comments and remember you can do financial damage to yourself by modding a standard model. My advice .............. sell it and buy a proper active bass. Shouldnt have a problem then.
