Ant_On_Bass
Hi all i was just wondering what basses you guys have played that have had a thin fast necks and great action? i bought a rig off of a friend a few years back and he chucked in an Aria IGB-49 for free, and turned out i actually really liked and still like playing this bass, so much so that i sold my warwicks, Although the tone isn't as good as some of the high end basses i do enjoy playing it:-) So i was just interested to see what other basses people have played that have a thin neck, fast, great tone and great to play? :-)

Marvin
Ibanez SR range. Stupidly skinny, like a matchstick.
tedmanzie
Fender Geddy Jazz has a famously thin (front to back) neck. I had one, it played like a dream
mckendrick
I got a few Jazzes and all a little different. The narrowest across the nut is a '71, the shallowest thro the section is '66, the smallest all round is a 1982 Fullerton '62 re-ish that all round is the next smallest thing to sliver of... nothing; dead fast, and slicker than snot on a door handle. xgsjx
I'll 2nd the Ibby SR. Makes the other's feel like baseball bats. The higher end SoundGear range can cover just about any sound you want.
Noah Deere
Ibanez SoundGear gets my vote as well.

[/quote] Depends what state of dryness. Fresh stuff is real slick. Mid life is a bit tacky. Bone dry stuff gives you that polished dance floor kind slickness. stingrayPete1977
I don't like a jazz nut or the Ibanez either really, I do like a thin neck depth wise but narrow nut widths don't do it for me. I'd still play a whole gig on one,I do have a jazz, but overall I prefer a bit of meat.
Dingus
If you prefer a mucus - free finish on your Jazz Bass neck , the USA Lakland Joe Osborn necks are super fast with a fantastic worn -in feel and a very slender profile directly and very exactly copied from Joe's original 1960 Fender prototype . Kev
Find yourself an old Warwick Streamer SS1, i hear the new 2013 models have gone skinny too
TheGreek
Nearly everything I still own - can't stand a fat neck - probably one of the best I've played is a Status Kingbass..
Schnozzalee
Kubicki Basses, although, I do tend to think fat neck basses have better tone - my hands are too small though, so I play fat neck guitars
PURPOLARIS
Both my SR Prestiges, 4 and 5 string have great thin necks.

Grangur
My Ibanez EDB has a really fast, slim neck too.. molan
Don't come a lot thinner than a Sadowsky Will Lee - even narrower nut than a vintage Fender!
