boogiewithsteve
So, Riff Raff needs a new bass player…. capable and creative, and looking for the challenge of making classic rock and pop work in the power trio format. We’ve been gigging regularly (app 30 gigs/yr, about a dozen booked at present) in the Thames Valley, out of Newbury, pubs and clubs, and are considered one of the best trios in the area. After four great years, Chezz (member Chezz55) is moving out of the area, so it’s time for a change – and a chance to evolve. We, the remaining two, are in our fifties, ex-pro and enjoy energetically and thoughtfully cranking out stuff by Zep, Purple, Lizzy, Toto, Fleetwood, Queen, Who, Hendrix, Family etc. We like to keep our choice of tunes interesting (not the usual suspects) and we now want to combine rock with interesting new rock-based arrangements of classic pop (maybe Walker Bros, Gary Numan, Peter Gabriel, Bowie, Edison Lighthouse, Human League, Rihanna – it’s varied, and more suggestions welcome). That’s what we’re working on while we look for an enthusiast to join us – a good player, an inventive approach, willing to take the lead occasionally, happy to switch things round, some vox an asset. We can do (cheap) rehearsal at my place and, for a final polish, there’s a good rehearsal studio down the road. Do you really want to know what gear we play? Mackie PA, Sonor/Paiste/Zildjan kit, Boogie/H&K/Orange amps with Fender and Gordon Smith guitars . . . . blah blah blah – it’s how we (and you) play them that counts, and up to now, we’ve made a really good sound. Please call me on 07768 467096 email [email protected] Myspace is pants - nevertheless, we are here: www.myspace.com/riffraffrockband
franzbassist
I'd love this gig, but I'm probably just a little too far away for it to be practical
