From this:

To this:

Maybe not a true refinish, more a rebuild, but it sure looks different. :)

It was done by Simon Farmer of Gus Guitars. I did a thread about it here with all the details and photos of the refinishing/restoration process.

(grin) Photoshop, I say, PHOTO SHOP!

Joking aside, you are a braver man than me doing that to a £$£$£$£ Bass, but the end result is rather nice.

If you knew how little I actually paid for it in the first place (although that figure was more than justified considering the condition it was in) you wouldn't think me brave, just practical. Plus the restoration work was done by the man who made the bass in the first place. IMO the end result was most definitely worth it. This is now the bass I reach for first when playing, writing or recording.
Lovely, I do like an orange bass (or guitar for that matter). Did you do that yourself, if so i) bravo! ii) how?

I salute all of those here brave enough to refin 'premium' basses, it takes some balls IMO.

So awesome.

You've stollen my idea. Completely.

Was going to refinish one of my basses and slap a Hylian Crest on it too.

Damn you.
