New Kyle Eastwood album... is good!

Eh up, just wanted to tip you guys to the new Kyle Eastwood album - called The View From Here - I've followed Kyle's stuff over recent years, but always felt it's been a bit over-produced but this one is really good - it's a great five-piece band all playing live in the studio, lots of great grooves, melodies and some fruity solos from all concerned - it's kind of swinging jazz-into-funk with other influences - very film-score-esque in places. Kyle's playing has really come on - his solos are superb plus he's really solid when backing - all in all I'm impressed - there's a sound clip here (it's the opening track) and it's out in March:

I caught this track a couple of days ago, and his like of the 70's [almost cop theme like] music is pretty strong here.
Good stuff.

Is it me but the bass intro sounds like a tune from Incognito, "Still a friend of mine" if I'm not wrong.

I play occasionally with his drummer, Martyn Kaine - great player, learned (and improved) so much by playing with him

Even as I type he's being i'viewed on R2 by Simon Mayo, just gave a demo of his one-off Gibson custom bass. Well worth catching on iPlayer if you miss it.
