Fender Bass V 1966

A rare bass indeed. Only about 200 made between '65 and '70 (although I've seen one or two from '71).
John Paul Jones played one during the tour of '73 and it is said that James Jamesons was given one, but i've never seen any proof of him playing one.
This particulair bass is in really good condition. Really nice sunburst. Beautiful dark rosewood neck. Everything is original as far as I know except for the case. The case is a newer G&G case which fits the bass perfectly (it's really hard to find a rocksolid case for these basses, as they are an inch longer than a p-bass). This bass even has the original pickups and bridge covers!
34" scale. 15 frets. originally intended to be strung with a high C. So the range is from low E tot a high e-flat. Just like on a p-bass. The only difference is that you don't have to switch positions that often.
Currently strung BEADG with flatwounds.
It sounds truly amazing!

Really nice example!
I've had three of these basses, sold the other two because I liked this one better. But now I found out that I prefer shortscale basses.

This bass is perfect except for a scratch on the back of the bass and a blemish on the side.
Asking price is 2500 euros
I am based in The Netherlands

This is a really good example of this fairly rare bass - doesn't seem to be missing anything. Good luck with the sale. Would be interested myself if I didn't already have one.

I was just thinking that I'd seen one here recently..
