TheGreek Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Update: played the 4 string again last night - kept reaching for notes on the (non-existent) "B" string...I really didn't think it was going to be this frustrating!! Quote

Mark_Bass Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 When i transitioned form a 4 to a 5 the only thing that took a bit of time was skipping a string when playing riffs on the E string to D, i raise my strap up aout an inch (it was way to low to be fair) and that helped. It wasn't untill i picked-up my fender 4string at a rehearsal did i realise how much i use the B string. Quote
White Cloud Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) For me the transition was not a problem...I did however find out that 35" scale 5'ers do not suit me at all. Fell in love with the look of the Yamaha TRB ...but found it totally uncomfortable. Laklands felt a bit better...but after I played the Ibanez 5'ers it was love! steve-bbb Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 not liking 5 but ok with 6 as the 4 sit symmetrically inside it Quote
