In front of other musicians though I like thumbing through Respect - Aretha Franklin because I know I can get the groove just right and it's a real infectious and recognisable line. Easy, too! Big_Stu Posted February 16, 2013 Share Posted February 16, 2013 Usually just pick one out that I know they'll recognise, depending on who it is; though in general I tend to shy away from such malarky because I tell them it's a group not a solo instrument. But usually "Town Called malice", or it's cousin "Lust For Life", possibly show them a bass' day-job with "Can't Turn You Loose" then someone avariably asks "What's the extra knob for over there?"
