replacement options for single ply pickguard '57 P-Bass RI

hello. just picked up a lovely '57 RI JV-Fender Squire. all original, including the single ply white pickguard - but i don't really like the pickguard. Compared to the 3 ply i'm used to on my other basses, this seems cheap and doesn't lay flat on the body (i.e. it lifts up a tad between the screws and looks cheap)

what do you think would be a good replacement? can i get a thicker single ply? or 3 ply?
and what's the best way to get the holes to match? mine has 12 holes, but the new replacements seem to have 10.
should i get it undrilled??

any advice appreciated.

Strange that Ted, a 12-hole pickguard, Fenders usually being 10 or 13.

I`d suggest out very own Bass Doc on here for advice.

If he`s unable to help, try out these guys, Guitar Parts Worldwide, I`m getting one of their brushed gold ones made at the moment:

+1 for The Bass Doc. If you send him your original pg, he will make a replacement to your specs that will fit perfectly.

Huge +1. I just picked up a 'plate from Howard on Friday and it fit perfectly. VERY good quality material that he uses too.
